Home builders in El Paso and Horizon City
The builders active in El Paso and Horizon City, where each one is building, and the one thing you must do before you walk into any model home.

Register your agent on the first visit
This is the rule that costs buyers the most money. Builders only recognise your agent if that agent is named on your very first visit to the sales office. Sign in alone once and you have generally given up representation on that community for good, and the sales office works for the builder. Text Alma before you go and she will register you or meet you there.
Palo Verde Homes
One of the largest builders in the region, with communities across Horizon City, the East side, the Northwest and the Northeast. Full page at /new-homes/palo-verde-homes/.
Sanderson Custom Homes
Semi-custom building on the East side, including Tierra del Este and Emerald Estates. ClearView Realty is the builder's exclusive sales brokerage, which means Alma's office knows these homes from the inside. Full page at /new-homes/sanderson-homes/.
Hakes Brothers, Saratoga, CareFree, Cullers, Pacifica and Tropicana
All build actively in El Paso and Horizon City at different price points and in different communities. Which one suits you depends far more on the specific community and lot than on the brand, and the incentives change month to month. Alma tracks what is actually being offered rather than what was advertised last quarter.
Custom builders
If you are building on your own land, the questions change entirely: the builder's contract, the draw schedule, the allowance amounts and what happens when a material price moves mid-build. Those contracts are written by the builder, not by TREC, and they are worth having read before you sign.
The base price is never the price
Every new home advertisement in El Paso quotes the base plan on the builder's least desirable lot with none of the finishes you walked through. The model is upgraded, and it is upgraded on purpose. Lot premium, elevation, structural options, flooring, cabinets, counters and landscaping are separate lines, and by the time the sheet is finished the number has often moved by a large fraction. That is not dishonest, it is how the industry prices, but you need to see the whole sheet before you compare two builders. Compare identical specifications on identical lot types or you are not comparing anything. Then look at the lender. Builders offer money toward closing costs when you use their preferred lender, and sometimes that is genuinely the better deal, and sometimes the rate over thirty years costs far more than the incentive saved you. Run both. Alma Patino builds that comparison for buyers before they choose, registers as your representation at the first visit, reads the builder contract, and attends the final walkthrough, which is the one chance you get to have things fixed while someone else is still paying for it.
Questions
Who are the home builders in El Paso TX?
Palo Verde Homes, Sanderson Custom Homes, Hakes Brothers, Saratoga Homes, CareFree Homes, Cullers Homes, Pacifica and Tropicana all build in El Paso and Horizon City, along with custom builders who build on your land.
Do I need a realtor to buy a new construction home in El Paso?
You do not need one, but the builder's sales office represents the builder, not you. Having your own agent costs you nothing extra and gives you someone reading the builder's contract. The catch is that the agent must be registered on your first visit.
Which builder is best in El Paso?
There is no single answer, because the right builder depends on the community, the lot and what incentives are live that month. Alma compares identical specifications across builders on your budget rather than recommending a brand.
